How do I test transactions on my Storefront space?

2 minute read

If you’re looking to try out the full customer experience, test mode can help with that.
When Test Mode is enabled, you can process test transactions on your Storefront Space using any card number. Cards will not be charged in Test Mode.

Hosted pages and embeddable Cart/Modal

Here’s how to start using Test Mode on the Plasso hosted pages or embeddable UIs:

  1. Turn on the toggle labeled “Enable test mode on Plasso hosted pages”. This will automatically turn on the “Allow test transactions” toggle as well.
  2. Click the “Save” button on the Setup form.

  • Allow Test Transactions: Allows test transactions to be processed on this Space. This toggle is focused primarily for Flexkit but is required to be on when testing embeddable UI’s as well.
  • Enable Test Mode On Plasso Hosted Pages: Forces all transactions, processed from one of the Plasso hosted/embeddable interfaces, to be in Test Mode.

Manually in Flexkit

Here’s how to start using Test Mode with Flexkit:

  1. Turn on the toggle labeled “Allow test transactions”.
  2. Click the “Save” button on the Setup form.

When building with Flexkit, you are given a Test Public Key and a Live Public Key that is found in your Account Settings under the API tab. Simply replace the bolded “live_key_replace_me” text with your Test Public Key. When using the Test Public Key in Flexkit, there will not be a charge created so you can use any card number (i.e. 4242 4242 4242 4242).

<script src=''></script><script> Plasso.setKey('live_key_replace_me'); </script>

Paste this <script> before your closing </body> tag and you’re all set. Be sure to remove the Test Public Key when you’re ready to accept payments 💸

You’ll also need to add your Test Key to the Flexkit setup method. Check out the Flexkit Docs for more info on how to do that.
